Put simply, because we aim to give every boy in our care the best start in life.
The school offers a first-class academic and co-curricular education within a kind and nurturing environment. Our belief is that happy children learn best and that is why we offer encouragement and challenge in equal measure. An holistic approach is derived from our ethos of caring for each individual child, at whatever stage they are at.
The school follows the EYFS programme for boys in Reception who will also start learning French (or another modern language) and Mandarin. The curriculum from Year 1 through to Year 6 is shaped by the National Curriculum Key Stages with greater academic content and rigour. In Years 7 and 8 boys are prepared to sit Common Entrance papers (in June of Year 8) before joining 13+ schools.
Lessons are planned around maximising pupil outcomes especially deepening knowledge and understanding of topics. The added dimension is encouraging the boys to enquire and think, to problem-solve and to respond individually as well as part of a group.
Sport, music and drama are all incorporated into the timetable. There is plenty of scope for boys to perform or play from elementary to the highest standard. In addition, there is a host of clubs and hobbies offered before and after school.
