It is always thrilling for us to see our excited young men pouring into school well before the school day has started, or indeed staying behind after school, to indulge their wide-ranging passions.

For sport, we facilitate an extensive co-curricular programme which includes football, rugby, cricket, table-tennis, basketball, swimming and dance. These clubs take place at the main school site before and after School throughout the year. Art and Drama club are also in high demand, as our students prepare for performances and exhibitions which are highlights of the calendar.

Academic enrichment might include Maths clinics, where boys are challenged to perform in a variety of competitions, or more bespoke support sessions for those needing a bit more help in core subjects. A number of pupils usually in Years 7 and 8 will attend scholarship sessions in order to support them with the demands of upcoming senior school scholarship exams.

Cultural enrichment activities comprise sessions such as ‘Eco-Warriors’, in which pupils are encouraged to consider the environment and the role that they can play in making the world a more sustainable place to inhabit.

‘Pupil Voice’ is also something which we hold dear at St Anthony’s where boys are encouraged to develop their skills in leadership and organisation. The Student Council meet regularly, and their insights and suggestions help shape charitable fundraising, promoting a ‘greener’ school and updating lunch menus, amongst many other topics! The boys take elections to the Student Council very seriously and whole-school Question Time style leaders’ debates are held prior to appointing the student leadership team. Democratic values are alive and well here at St. Anthony’s.

Whatever your son’s interests, he can be sure to find an activity which will serve to consolidate his talents whilst also uncovering new passions in all areas.
