Lord of the Flies
Our year 7 have been studying William Golding’s famous novel ‘Lord of the Flies’ in Drama, Art, Music and English. Early in January we visited the Richmond Theatre to watch a performance of the play. Since then, students have been working hard in their creative art lessons to prepare for their own performance of this play. They have had just 8 hours in each of the three disciplines to produce their work, ready for tonight’s showcase. In Drama we have been working to script, creating their characters and performance as an ensemble. In Music they have written an original song to be sung in chorus during their act in the play, supported by Joseph. In Art they have created an original mask in relation to their character, which you will see worn during the play this evening. Oliver supported them through this process.
This has been my first performance project with this year group and I have been hugely impressed with the focus, discipline and passion they have shown to each of their pieces of work. I would like to thank them all for their efforts.
