Appointment of Founding Headteacher

for St. Anthony’s School for Girls

Alpha Plus Group is delighted to announce that we have appointed a founding Headteacher for St. Anthony’s School for Girls, North End Rd, NW11, opening in September 2016.

Miss Martin will join us from her current role as Assistant Headteacher at Holy Family Catholic Primary School in West Acton.  In her current role, she is responsible for strategic planning, safeguarding, curriculum implementation and delivery, as well as assessment and the day to day running of a start-up 2 form entry Catholic Primary School.  As a founding teacher and Assistant Head at a start-up school, she has a wealth of invaluable knowledge and experience and was an integral part of the team that led Holy Family to achieve the grade ‘Outstanding’ in its first Ofsted inspection.

She holds a B.A. Ed. Primary Education degree, with an Art specialism, from The University of Reading and a professional Leadership qualification from the National College for Teaching and Learning. Miss Martin has a passion for learning and development and this year implemented a new approach to Mathematics in her current school based on Singapore Maths training methods. She led the team that is part of a research project with Oxford University looking into the implementation of this method at her current school.

She will be taking up her new position in April 2016 and will of course be supported in her new role by Mrs Jenny Aviss, Director of Schools and Colleges of Alpha Plus Group, Mr Paul Keyte, Headmaster of St. Anthony’s School for Boys and the Pastoral Board.
