Science News: years 6-8

Year 6 have been working through the Cells topic, with the highlight being the successful creation of stained microscope slides of their own cheek cells.

Ask any Year 7 boy what their favourite Biology lesson this half term has been and they would probably answer the practical experiment burning crisps to see which brand contained the most energy. They have also stepped over to the other side of the desk and planned and taught their own lessons on deficiency diseases in small groups.

Year 8 have debated the future of electricity generation in the UK, pitched to provide renewable energy sources to a team of field scientists in the Pacific and are now part way through building models of energy efficient houses.

The boys have proven to be fantastic students of science!
