Colts A vs Hill House 3 February

The scene was set in the first thirty seconds of the match. Matthew O caught the ball early, sprinted through a gap in the opposition’s line and placed the ball down to score St. Anthony’s first try of the day. Unfortunately, Joseph G could not put the ball over the post for the conversion.

This set the tone and St. Anthony’s pushed on, finding the line a handful of times, thanks to some similarly bold line-breaks. Unluckily, Hill House scored a try. At half time, it was clear that this was going to be a one-sided match.

In the second half, St. Anthony’s worked well in the rucks. There was some superb play from Theo H, who was our Man of the Match. Hill House came close to a second try but their player was ‘boshed’ into the dead ball zone, causing a twenty-two drop out. Towards the end, St. Anthony’s lost a scrum, which unfortunately did not allow them to go through the match without losing a scrum. The afternoon ended perfectly with our number 10 putting the ball over the posts, leaving the match at 73-7.
